We held our Town Hall on February 2nd, but if you missed it, fear not as the recap is posted below. We are still looking to have our season this year, and with your help we can make it a great year! We at OCA look forward working with your archer this year!

Ohio County Archery 2.3.21 Virtual Town Hall/Parent Meeting Recap

Start of season – as of right now – Sunday, February 14th

❖ COVID precautions:
• Masks must be properly worn by everyone
o OCA looking into getting gaiters with logo
• Only coaches and archers permitted in gym
o Parent/guardian can social distance in cafeteria, in car, or drop off
• Archers will take turns shooting and waiting
• Archers will only touch their own arrows

❖ Registration:
• Register your archer(s) online at ohiocountyarchery.com at the Archer Information Survey tab
o If you registered in-person at first parent meeting, re-register online to have all info in 1 place

❖ Practices:
• Locations:
o Bridge Street Middle School
▪ Sundays and maybe weekday evenings
o No longer available at West Liberty Elem until further notice o Looking into maybe using Warwood Middle
• Register for practice time slot each week online at ohiocountyarchery.com at the Events tab o Click Calendar, the date, and scroll to find the times slots
o The times will show how many openings are available for that time that week o Click “Going” next to the time wanted based on Beginner or Experienced archer with opening spot(s)
• Weekly time slot registration required
• Can change your time slot each week based on your needs o Follow the Beginner or Experienced archer time options
• Limit of 30 archers per practice
• Practice will last approx. 1 hour
• Each target will have an A and B archer
o Archers will take turns with 1 shooting and the other waiting
o After both have shot their arrows, both will retrieve their own arrows from the target
• Practice times:
o 1:30-2:15 = Beginners group 1
o 2:15-3:00 = Beginners group 2
o 3:00-4:00 = Any experienced returning archers
o 4:00-5:00 = Any experienced returning archers
o 5:00-6:00 = Any experienced returning archers

❖ Academic Archer:
• 3.75 GPA at end of each semester
o Show Mr. T the 2nd and 4th report cards to have student designated at Academic Archer on NASP site to be in drawing for prizes

❖ Cost:
• No cost unless competing in tournaments
• OCA provides Genesis bows and arrows
o No need to purchase own but can (must follow specific guidelines)

❖ Tournaments:
• 100% optional, no pressure to compete
• Cost of School shirt – $15 (required)
o OCA gray hoodie – $25 (preferred, strongly encouraged)
o Gaiter – TBD
o Entry fee to each tournament
▪ $5-10 o Money to eat on the way home, usually stop at Wendy’s
• Bus available for archers
o Mr. T chaperones boys
o Female parent requested to chaperone girls
o Girls sit in the back, boys sit up front
o Archers can ride the bus to and/or from tournament
▪ Mr. T will update estimated arrival time to BSMS via Remind app for parents to pick up
o Parents/Guardians can drive separate and take archer home after flight
o Parents/Guardians can drive archer to/from tournaments
• Changes due to COVID most tournaments are asking archers to leave after their flight o Most tournaments are not holding an awards ceremony

• Tournament schedule posted on ohiocountyarchery.com
o First one is March 6 at Buckhannon
